I have a question about your comment that the holy spirit was not given before the advent of Messiah. You mention: “One needs the Holy Spirit to change the pattern of life and behavior in order to make God’s grace a permanent change in our lives.” How do you reconcile Gen. 26:5 -“because Abraham obeyed Me and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes and My laws.” How was Abraham able to keep these without the holy spirit being an integral part of his life? Was he able to do it of his own volition?

      Hi Nate,
Elazar Brandt is no longer with Netivyah and will not be able to respond to your excellent question. I am going to forward this to Joseph Shulam and see if he can shed some light on your question.
      Regards,
      Beth Shulam
