The Jerusalem Prayer List – February 2nd, 2012

Culture sometimes takes a strange turn.  I am in the United States of America in the State of New Jersey, and steeped in Korean Culture, language and wonderful people around me.  It is always my pleasure to be in Korea and fellowship with Korean Christians, but this is really the first time that I am with a Korean American congregation of Christians who are deeply interested in God's Word and in Israel.  In the catalogue of great ideas the United States had the “melting pot” idea that immigrants will come from all around the world to Ellis Island, and Corpus Christy, Texas, and Galveston, and Savannah, Georgia, and San Francisco, California, and all would melt into this pot that will produce something great and different and much better and nobel type of people.  Well, this “great idea” did not work.  Yesterday, we had lunch with a dear Arab Israeli, Palestinian, brother and his family who live in New Jersey.  We were like being in the city of Lod during the 1970's in the Munayyer home.  I must confess that there were some differences, and the main one was the beautiful home and wonderful neighborhood that was very different than old Lod (Biblical Lydda).  Than before my teaching in the Korean church, we had dinner in a wonderful Italian restaurant with Albanian and Serbian waiters that mainly speak Serbian.  This was also a cultural experience of the so called “Melting Pot” that nothing has melted in it except the pot itself.  I have been teaching a mini seminar on Paul and Galatians in a Korean church and even in New Jersey there has to be translation from English to Korean, and I do have an excellent interpreter.  So, as you can see the great ideas that drove the West have melted the pot and each culture and nationality is stringently fighting to preserve their character.  God did not intend for us to lose our identity and our cultures and become something new that is born less than 300 years ago.  Our ancient cultures are a kaleidoscope of God's glory to be celebrated and enjoyed and used for the good of the Kingdom of God.  We forget that the Apostle Paul said in Colosians 2:16-17, “So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.”  The same teaching is in Romans chapter 14.  Such ugly things have been done by the Catholic church against the Jews and Muslims and Brazilian Indians, and Mexican Aztec civilizations trying to force the people to be what they are not and what they don't want to be.  Let us celebrate our rainbow and rejoice that God has made this world so interesting and never dull.  I ask you to continue to pray for Marcia and I, because tomorrow we continue our travels. We go from New Jersey to Virginia near Washington D.C., to teach in another Korean church there and enjoy fellowship.  Next week we fly to Georgia and we will be in fellowship with the Campus View church of Christ, in Athens, Georgia.  From there we fly to Miami and immediately to Curitiba, Brazil, to dedicate a Torah Scroll in the Sar-El congregation.  This Torah Scroll is a miracle because it was lost in the Ben-Gurion Airport in Israel and only after three weeks it was found in the Torah Cabinet of the Airport Synagogue and only later a good Rabbi helped to get it to the Sar-El congregation in Curitiba, Brazil. No small miracle took place with this Torah.  We continue from Curitiba, to Vitoria, and from Vitoria, to Belo-Horizonte, and from there to Recife, and to London,  England, and finally on the 1st of March home to Israel.  So, please lift us up in your prayers.

The progress in the building project is picking up steam and we need some major breakthrough to help us raise the necessary funds for doing this building.  I am really asking everyone to invest in the Lord's body in Israel by helping us financially to build this Synagogue for Jewish Disciples of Yeshua as a monument of God's grace to the Jewish people.  This is a first my dear brothers and it is the only building that was not inherited from some Christian denomination or was built on the property of some church or belongs to some foreign missionary organization.  I can't stress the great importance of this project for the body of the Messiah in Israel and for Jewish and non-Jewish Disciples world wide.  We need to raise at least 1,500,000.00 US dollars more.  The original estimate was much less and now the architects are giving the estimation of $ 2,000,000.00 US dollars.  We have near 400,000 dollars in the account, and we still need around $ 1,500,000.00 US dollars.  I am no fund raiser, and all this depends on the Lord's goodness and grace and on the generosity of our brothers and sisters world wide.

Our brother Marcelo in Belo-Horizon, Brazil, is building a museum for the Anussim / Marrano Jews and victims of the Spanish and Portuguese Inquisition.  He needs $ 50,000 dollars.  If the Marrano Jews are close to your heart contribute also to this first of a kind Museum of the Inquisition in Brazil.  You can do it through Netivyah if you wish (use paypal from our web page www.netivyah.org but note that it is for the Museum of the Inquisition in Brazil) or you can write Marcelo personally:  Marcelo Guimaraes <marcelog@ensinandodesiao.org.br>.

Please pray for the conference in Brazil.  We seem to be growing in numbers and now we have our dear brother Tony from Hong Kong join us in Brazil with  his wife.  It is avery long way to fly from Hong Kong to Israel, from Israel to Brazil, from Brazil back to Israel and from Israel back to Hong Kong.  This is a dear brother who’s heart is for God and with God and definitely for Israel and the Jewish people.

Please pray for Kol HaYeshua Radio.  We are beginning an advertisement campaign to let Israel know about the Kol HaYeshua broadcasts.  We have finally been blessed with a modest but saficiant funds for this advertisement campaign and we are going on the way with it.  Please pray that God will encourage people to hear the Good News from Kol HaYeshua.  This is not a missionary radio broadcasts it is a sincere presentation of the Good News of and about Yeshua without any pressure or persuasion.  It is only an information giving radio broadcast that informs the people in the whole Middle East and all the way to Ukraine about Yeshua and His World and the Jewishness of His message and the need that we all have for the Good News.  We are not preaching some brand of Christianity or some Christian denomination or some particular Christian brand.  We are Jewish Disciples of Yeshua our Lord, Teacher and Rabbi, and we want the whole world to know what He stood for and how He interpreted the Torah and the Prophets and what He did for humanity.  Please pray for the advertisement to fall on open and willing ears and hearts.

I ask you to pray for Emmanuel a dear brother that has suffered some serious health setbacks and God has healed him but there are still some minor issues that need to be healed.  Also pray for Ashley Clark  who is needs healing and divine guidance for the doctors who plan to replace her heart valve.  Also pray for the healing of Michael Dye in Tennessee.  Ruby our dear sister is someone that we ought not forget to pray for and in fact it is time not only to pray for Ruby but to shout and ask God in a very bold way to heal Ruby, and Tim Tucker, and Ahuva, Leah, Ilana, Sarit, Marcia, Neryah, David S., David K.,  Tanya, Merav, and Paulo. Please continue to heal and give strength to Ishiida San, and Sadako San, in Japan.  Also, please don't forget to pray for me, Joseph Shulam, I am near restored to my health, but I still need your prayers.  The schedule that I keep during these travels is not easy and I am in need of strength and stamina to teach well and many hours.
