The Jerusalem Prayer List – November 12, 2010
by Joseph Shulam
I am back from a three week trip to Germany, Korea and Japan. The trip was a success because I am at home safe and sound, and the brothers everywhere were pleased with the teaching and were generous with their gifts for the Work of the Lord in Israel. I don't know how many hours of teaching I did in the last three weeks but I can tell you, my dear brothers and sisters, that most of the days I gave at least three to four hours of teaching. The teaching in Japan was mainly on the topic of King David's Messiah. There were seminars on this subject in Osaka, Fukuoka, Tokyo, and Okinawa. Of course there was also preaching in churches in some of these places. The seminar on King David's Messiah was a kind of review of the possible reasons why God loved King David so much, and why the Messiah of prophecy is patterned after King David's reign and so is Yeshua identified from the very first verse of the Gospel of Matthew as “son of David son of Abraham.” The objective of this teaching was to re-connect Yeshua with the long history of messianic expectations and character in the history of Israel. This is important because so much of the Jesus (Yeshua) that is being preached today in the Western churches is totally disconnected from the historical reality of the Biblical Messiah and also from the roots of the Messianic Idea in the Old Testament. In Korea I was received from the first moment of landing in the airport to the very last moment of my leaving with such wonderful brotherly love and hospitality. In the airport there were little children dressed in traditional Korean clothing waving Israeli flags and handing me wonderful flowers. The seminars in Korea were on three different topics, “Unusual women of the Bible,” and “Israel at the Crossroads,” and “The Grace of God in the Torah.” Each of these seminars was so well attended and there were people from around Korea who attended all three seminars. Some had come from way down south of Korea to be in the seminar and other came from other cities. The last day the seminar was in the Chung Ann University which is a secular University that has several tens of thousands of students. I am writing these things in this prayer list so that you can pray for brothers and sisters in Korea and Japan and Germany and bless God for what is happening in the Far East because actually the next center of Christ centered Faith might be in Asia or in South America.
Upon arrival in Israel the first news cast that I heard was really bad news for me. I have never reacted to the news in Israel is such a very sad and stressful way. The news was about an F16i jet of the Israeli air-force that crashed in the Ramon Crater and two Israeli pilots were dead. One of the two pilots name was very familiar to us. The pilot is a young man who grew up in our congregation. He was so to speak one of our kids a very fine talented young man who was a Israeli F-16i pilot and found his death in this horrid accident. He is the first kid who grew up in his early childhood years in Netivyah and whom we have lost to this unfortunate accident. Please pray for the family and for the community in Israel who is so saddened by this death. Only God can comfort the grieving family and Israel.
Barry my son had surgery this week and he is doing well after the surgery but we still need to pray for him. Keijo Lindeman our dear brother in Finland is recuperating from double knee replacement surgery in Finland. Please pray for him to recuperate easy and quick and for the pain to lighten up. David S. from our congregation was hit by a car and his leg is damaged but not broken. Please pray for David S. and for a fast recovery and also total healing. In Japan we have a dear, dear family of wonderful leaders who's father is very ill and needs your prayers for strength and healing. The name of this fine brother is Ishiida. We continue to lift up Ruby in Oklahoma, and Paulo in Brazil, and Ahuva, Ilana, Leah, Sarit, and Zvi and Sara in Jerusalem. We also lift our dear brother David for healing and for God's comfort in these hard times of grief. Sarit's our dear sister is grieving for her sister-in-law and we ask God's comfort and grace upon her and the whole family. Marcia's father in Tennessee needs healing and prayer too. Please lift up H.E.Saunders to the Lord for healing and well being.
In just two weeks we have the conference in Portugal taking place. At this point everything is according to schedule, but we need special prayer for the work of our travel agency that is supposed to have the hotels and transportation set in place for the conference and for the city of Castelo de Vide to have the place and the media and the arrangements of the conference. Of course the spiritual side of the conference and the opening up of the issue of the Anussim of Portugal and Brazil are the main parts of the conference and you need to pray for God's blessing and success.
Please continue to pray for the work of our brothers and sisters in Germany, Japan and Korea because there are brothers there who are day and night praying for the salvation of Israel and for the Restoration of the church. If we could all unit our forces at least in prayer for the same goals I believe that God will bless our prayers and fulfill His desire to see all of Israel saved. The Lord is building up a coalition of people all around the world who are committed to the Restoration of both Israel into the faith of Abraham and also the restoration of the church to what it was in the First Century.
I will keep this letter short and tell you all thank you for your support and for your love and for your prayers for me and for my family and for the Lord's Work in Netivyah.
