The Jerusalem Prayer List – December 23rd, 2010

by Joseph Shulam

This is the last prayer list that I will write this year of 2010.  The Christians and many in Japan, Korea, and even China, are getting ready to celebrate the birth of Yeshua our Messiah.  At least the commercial part of Christmas has gained an honorable place in the marketplaces of Asia and Africa of course in addition to Europe and the Americas.  If I would be in a charitable mood I would say that it does not make a difference why people are singing Christmas songs, or celebrating and telling the story of the birth of the savior – as long as the name of Yeshua was is honored and spoken.  But, if I would not be in a charitable mood I would say that the commercialism and cynical attitude of Christmas celebration is an abomination to God and a desecration of Yeshua's name and the Biblical story.  Right now I don't really know if I am in a charitable mood or in a scrooge mood.  May be I am today in a charitable mood and bless all of you who celebrate Christmas and I wish all of you a peaceful and blessed holiday full of joy and light.  I also wish everyone a wonderful year full of God's grace and goodness, prosperity and growth in the our faith and walk with the Lord. Happy New Year to all of you!

We are praying for a year of healing for the sick and food for the hungry and care for the old and more fruit in the Spirit.  The year 2010 was a good year.  We did many fine things to make the Kingdom of God more tangible to all around.  Of course we did the conference in Portugal and that was a great success but there is so much more to do for the Marrano Jews in 2011.  We have plans for greater things to do in 2011 and we need your prayers.

Our sick and elderly need your prayers.  I just got another prayer request from a dear sister:  Elisheva who has asked us to pray for her and her family.  Elisheva needs healing for herself and for members of her family who have problems with addictions.  We will continue to pray for our dear sister Ruby in Oklahoma, and for Paulo in Brazil, and for Tim Tucker in Finland, and for Ahuva, Ilana, Leah, Sarit, Marcia, Sara and Zvi, and now for David S. and for Danah and Noaam my dear daughter and grand-daughter in California.  I ask you to also pray for a dear Arab sister, Naama, who went through surgery last week and who has to find a place to stay and has such problems that without God's help and the help of our brothers and sisters would be in real deep problems.  We also pray for Keijo our dear brother in Finland who went through a double Knee replacement surgery a few weeks ago.

Please continue to pray for the humanitarian work that the Lord has sent our way.  We want this next year to meet the challenges that the government social services have put before us, to care for children who need glasses and for old people who need dental care and continue to feed the poor of Jerusalem.

We thank all of you who continue to pray for Israel and for God's blessings on this country and nation.  We are here to bless Israel and to serve the Jewish people.  We are in partnership with all of you who want to see God's will be done here in this land and with these people who live here after years of diaspora, dispersion, and exile.

Have a wonderful and blessed year in 2011 and enjoy the fellowship of the saints wherever you are.
