The Jerusalem Prayer List – July 15 2010
Thank you so very much for praying for Marcia and for the Shulam family. This is the third week after Marcia's knee replacement surgery and she is still suffering from a lot of pain, but there is significant progress and she is walking with a walker around the house and doing her physiotherapy. Please continue to pray for Marcia's health and also for health of all my family. It seems like every time that we are planning something significant for the Kingdom of God there are series of calamities that come our way. This is not only true for us in Israel and in Netivyah, but it is also for our brothers in Brazil. We have made some very good progress for the conference in Portugal and someone does not like this progress and is doing everything possible to slow us down. Please lift the conference in Portugal and give us your prayer support. Right now we have had a few cancelations of some very important Jewish lecturers. The reason that they give for the cancelation is “personal problems.” I am working on getting some other top scholars to come to the conference and plead the case for the Hidden Jews of Portugal. Please also lift our dear brothers in Brazil because there too the enemy is not sleeping and there too the Lord has to bless and heal and make peace in the congregations. I know that we will overcome and your prayers are very important to us and will motivate God Himself to look more favorably over us and give us the victory.

We had the Annual General Meeting of the members of Netivyah in Jerusalem. One time per year we have to meet and report and present the C.P.A's financial audit and make plans for the next year. In the meeting this year we had a couple of dear brothers from Japan who were in Jerusalem and they asked to observe our meeting. At the end of the meeting they were surprised at the openness of our meeting and the open report of our financial situation, salaries, expenses, contributions and just in general the very lively participation and “hands on” attitude of the members of Netivyah. In reality we are all very proud to be a part of this ministry and to put our shoulders to the plough to serve God's Kingdom. We have a very unusual and wonderful group of people in Netivyah. We have people who have been with Netivyah for more than 30 years and are still active and full of energy to do God's Work. In some ministries in Israel if you visit in three or four years you might find only 30% of the same people that were there three or four years ago. In Netivyah you will find the same people for many decades. Please keep Netivyah in

your prayers and keep supporting the wonderful works that Netivyah is doing:

1.Feeding the poor.

2.Broadcasting the Good News on the Radio.

3.Publishing important books and magazines in Hebrew and English and also in Japanese, Portuguese, Finnish, Russian, and German.

4.Helping needy Disciples of Yeshua.

5.Teaching and lecturing all around the world with the emphasis on the Restoration of Israel and the church.

6.Planting congregations committed to the Restoration of the Body of the Messiah like in the New Testament era.

7.Giving stipend to faithful students in the Universities of Israel to be able to study. We give a two hundred dollars per ten months a year for bona-fide students who are believers so that they can do their studies and advance in their life.

8.Netivyah does many more things to be an effective blessing to our people and to our land.

This coming Tuesday it is the 9th of Av in the Hebrew calendar. This day of great calamities and tragedies that have befallen the Jewish Nation over the course of over 3000 years. The first calamity that happened to the people of Israel on this date is the return of the 12 spies that Moses sent to spy out the land of Canaan. The report of these spies was evil and it brought a tragedy on the people of Israel. After that in the year 586 B.C. the temple in Jerusalem was destroyed by Sennacherib king of Asyria, and on the very same date in the year 70 A.D. the temple in Jerusalem was destroyed again by Titus the son of Vespasian. On the very same week of the 9th of Av the Jews were expelled from Spain in the year 1492 A.D. On an on the good Lord is directing history and pulling on the strings and on the very same day of the Hebrew calendar bringing us object lessons right on our flesh over millenniums so that we can learn that it is He and He alone who is directing History.

In Israel the 9th of Av is a day of fasting and sadness and people don't even say “Shalom” to each other on that day and they read the whole scroll of Lamentations in the Synagogues and act according to the customs of sorrow and morning. Please pray for the whole nation of Israel to hear the Word of the Lord that is read in the Synagogues all around the world and find the moral fortitude to repent and change and turn to God and see His mercy and His grace in the Messiah.

Please pray for Udi's mother. She is close to 90 years old and very sick in intensive care already for the second week. She went through a hip replacement surgery just a few days before Marcia had her knee replacement surgery, but there were a few things that turned bad and she is still in the hospital and in the ICU.

Marcia is doing a little bit better but still needs your prayers. Danah and Noaam are on their way to Tennessee for a short vacation with Barry and Beth and Joey, and with their grandmother and grandfather in East Tennessee. Please pray for my children and grandchildren to be safe physically and spiritually and have a good and relaxing time of peace and rest and recovery.

We continue to pray for our sick brothers and sisters. In Jerusalem we continue to pray for Liora, Ahuva, Ilana, Leah, Sarit, Sara and Zvi, David and David. In the United States we continue to lift Ruby and June. In Brazil we pray for Paulo. In Finland we lift up Tim Tucker and Tellervo.

Keep us in your prayers and keep enabling us to do the work of the Lord in Israel and around the world.
