The history always has a strange twist. The reason for this kind of historical twists is that Israel's history is outlined thousands of years back by the prophets of Israel. Amos the prophet says: “Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.” (Amos 3:7)
Israel was warned by God hundreds of years earlier then the first destruction of the temple in Jerusalem in 586 B.C. Than again the fall of the second Temple by the hands of the Romans in 70 A.D., brought an exile that is still not over, but it is definitely in the process of being resolved. The first time that Israel entered the land between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea our neighbors resisted and warred against Israel, and even used terrorist tactics as the Torah says: “Remember what Amalek did to you on the way as you were coming out of Egypt, how he met you on the way and attacked your rear ranks, all the stragglers at your rear, when you were tired and weary; and he did not fear God.” (Deut. 25:17-18)
God has honored all of His promises and directed history even to the last detail. We have seen Jews returning to the land from all around the world and now it is the turn for those millions of Jews who were converted to Catholicism by force to also return to Israel to fulfill the promises made by God through the prophet Obadiah who predicts that
the exiled in Sefarad will return to the land of Israel and settle the Negev Desert.
We are one week before the conference in Portugal. The preparation for this conference is going now at full speed ahead. We have now over 150 participants registered from all around the world. We speakers from Portugal, Brazil, Israel, Spain, United States, Japan, Korea, and other countries. Our cry is going to be double sided. We are calling the Christians and especially the Catholic Church to confess and repent for what they have done to the hundreds of thousands of Jews over hundreds of years. Even more important for me is that the Christians would understand that the theology of hate that has directed them in relationship to Israel and the Jews is not a part of God's will or a part of the Biblical teaching. The second goal in this conference is to have the Jewish nation and especially the State of Israel to open its arms to these victims of the Inquisition and accept them as brothers long lost who want to come home. This double goal for this conference makes it all worth while and a major challenge. I ask you to pray very intensely this coming week for the success of this conference, a success would be defined first to go through the conference without any major problems with the hotels and with the transportation and with the health of the participants. Than success would be defined when we reach to excite and move the audience and the people who will hear of this conference to understand and to seek to resolve the rescue this last generation of Anussim / Marrano Jews in Portugal.
Please pray with us for this conference success.

Pray for the following sick brothers and sisters who need God's healing hand to touch them.
We have our dear brother David S., whose foot was ran over by a car and now he is in bed, in pain and he is just now beginning to walk a little. He has to travel with us to Portugal to participate in the conference. We prayed for Judah a dear brother from the Negev who had some strange internal bleeding incident where he had to receive four portions of blood. His bleeding stopped last Thursday after people prayed for him and Now Judah is guiding the Brazilian group that is going to join with us in the conference in Portugal. Pray for Grace our dear sister – the LORD partially answered prayers, but she still needs the LORD's polishing touch for a final healing. We continue to pray for healing for all those who are chronically ill among our brothers and friends: Dr. Tim Tucker – who has improved but still needs so much improvement. Ruby our dear sister – who is suffering pain so many years needs our prayer for a full and speedy miracle of healing. Ahuva, Liora, Leah, Ilana, Sarit, Sara, Zvi, Jo and all her family, and Paulo in Brazil. Keijo our dear brother in Finland who has undergone a double knee replacement surgery this week needs prayers for a speedy recovery and strength to bear the pain. Always pray for Marcia my wife, and Danah my daughter, and Noaam, and for Barry who also had surgery last week, but he is doing better, and for Joey, Beth, and Marcia's mother June, and her father Horace.
Please pray for the hundred plus people who are going to travel next week to Portugal. They will be coming by air and land, by airplanes and trains, and cars. We need God's grace on all the travelers and on the city of Castelo de Vide in Portugal.
God bless you all and give you all that is the desire of your heart,
Joseph Shulam
