Jerusalem Prayer List September 21, 2017

By Joseph Shulam

Today was the first day of the seventh month in the Jewish/Babylonian calendar.  In the Torah it is the Feast of Trumpets: “Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a Sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.”
(Leviticus 23:22–24 NKJV)

This command appears in several places I the Law of Moses and this date, the first day of the seventh month also appears in several very important occasions in the Word of God.  One of these occasions is Nehemiah chapter 8 – the reading of the Torah before all the people of Jerusalem.  In Jewish tradition, this date is called Rosh Hashanah – the Jewish New Year.   It is true that in the Bible the New Year is on the first day of the month of Nissan – that is the same month as the Passover. (See Ester 3:7) Today we had our Rosh Hashanah service in the congregation in Jerusalem.  We had guests from China, Korea, Holland, Finland, USA, South Africa and several other countries.  The Roeh Israel Congregation in Jerusalem is one of the most unique congregations of Jews and non-Jews who are dedicated to a biblical Restoration Concept.

I wish all of you who pray for us and for Israel a wonderful year. The Jewish new year is the year 5778.  Tradition gives different dates for this number. There is a rumor that this is the date from the creation of the World.  What this date really means actually no one knows for sure.  It is tradition!

This is the personal seal of King Hezekiah – the same that is mentioned in the book of 2 Kings and Isaiah chapter 1:1.

The wonderful thing is that the young leadership of Netivyah and the Roeh Israel Congregation is taking charge and I ask you all to pray for Netivyah and the Roeh Israel Congregation in Jerusalem.  It is interesting how many congregations around the world program their fellowship and worship from the example of Netivyah and Roeh Israel.  I just received a letter from Kenya in Africa of a congregation that has been reading our webpage and literature and wants to partner in the Restoration plea for both the Church and Israel.  I have never been in Africa other than Egypt, but they want me to come to Africa.  There is a church in South India in the province of Kerala that has been blessings us in Jerusalem regularly.  I hope to see these brothers and sisters who stand with Jerusalem and make sincere efforts to return to the purity of the relationship between Israel and the Church.

Pray for the situation in the Middle East.  Iran is encroaching on our boarder with Syria and Israel is becoming more anxious about Iran’s role in the whole Middle East with the backing of the Hezbollah, Iran and Russia.  Israel needs prayer and wisdom of how to deal with the serious strategical threat sitting right on our northern border of the Golan.

Iran is continuing to threaten Israel with destruction and of course they can have an Atomic Bomb anytime in spite the united nations and six nations.  Our Prime Minister Mr. Netanyahu has actually given a warning to the United Nations two years ago and drew a red line – stating the Iran is going to have a nuclear bomb.  We all need to pray that the LORD and only The LORD take action to stop Iran from accomplishing their evil intentions and destroy Israel.  Iran is serious and we have been in this history before some 2500 years when the Prime Minister of Persia/Iran was Haman and Ester was the queen of Persia in the reign of King Artaxerxes.    Haman wanted to kill all the Jews in the Great Persian Empire that ruled throughout South Asia.

Pray for Netivyah and the Roeh Israel Congregation in Jerusalem.  We are going to appoint two new Elders in our congregation at the end of the Feast of Sukkoth.  We all need your prayers and your support.  These two new Elders are some of the finest men and the most capable and absolutely qualified they are Yuda and David.  They need your prayers and the congregation needs your prayers.  Ask God to bless the congregation and protect it and bless these men and their families.

Please keep Danah and Noaam and Marcia in your prayers. Don’t forget Barry, Joseph and Beth in your prayers.

Pray for the people of in the Islands that were hit a second time by hurricane Maria. Some of these Islands were devastated and may the Lord have mercy on the people there and wake up the world.
Please pray for massive Aliyah from the Latin Countries to Israel.

Our dear Sister Nancy H., is “out of the woods” and back working in the office of Netivyah.  Keep her son Aaron in your prayers. Keep Bida our dear sister in Belo-Horizonte, Brazil, in your prayers.  She is dealing with brain cancer.  She had the surgery and is now going through additional treatments.
Please continue to pray for Katherine Neel, she is a young mother and wife of dear friends of our family and she too has brain cancer and needs intense prayer for healing.

Pray for Donna High another friend in the USA.  Donna is in need of urgent healing.

Please continue your prayer for Gary from our congregation in Jerusalem.  Gary needs a miracle cure from the Lord. Please pray for Melanie his wife.
Continue to pray for Ruby. We need to pray for Ahuva, Yuri, Ilana, Leah, Miriam, Victor B., David S., Miriam Sh., Keijo and Salme L., Anna-Majia, Erkki and Sirpa, Tim Tucker, Satu-Maria and her daughters, Kari A., Anna-Maja, Sarit, Daniel P., Takeo and Tomoko, Toru, Sadako San, Curita Sensei, Daisuke Sensei, in the USA please pray for Bobby M., Aaron H., John M., Liz Johnson, Marcia’s family especially her father and mother.  We pray for Tineke who is living in Holland and is a young lady that has that dreadful illness and needs God’s mercy for healing.

Our brother Yshai R., is going through open heart surgery this coming week.  Please pray for Ishai – he has already three stints inserted in his arteries and now he will go through a by-pass surgery.  Yshai’s condition was exasperated by a major loss of his finances by people who were posing as believers whom he trusted.  Pray for Yehuda H., an Israeli brother who is also fighting illness.
For brothers in Brazil, we ask you to pray for the following healing needs: Paulo, Naomi, Clara, Evelyn and Marcelo’s father and especially his mother.

We have fine brothers around the world who need guidance and blessings in their work and business. These are brothers who have sacrificed for the Kingdom of God and now ask for the Lord to bless them so that they can continue to bless the Body of the Messiah and Israel: R. Goh family and their son Gabriel who is going to study in Italy. Pray for Sister Christy, Sister Laurel, and for Brother Michael Kenzevic, and Daniel L., and his family and company.  We pray for the success and prosperity in their life and companies.  Pray for David a dear brother in Finland.  I pray that the Lord will give him a good job that is just specially preserved for David and will fit his needs and his family needs like hand in glove.

Pray for Roger W., and his family.  They are traveling and need God’s protection and blessing.

We appreciate and bless our brothers in Asia.  We all thank God for this grace and ask the Lord to bless all the participants and especially all the organized the Asia Messianic Forum in Taiwan and all those who have given us such wonderful hospitality.  I pray for all those who attended the AMF2017 from nine different Asian countries to take the joy and the burden of Restoration of both the Church and Israel back to their home countries and make it a blessing for their own ministries and countries and for us in Israel.

God bless all of you who pray for Netivyah and stand with Netivyah both in spirit and in the material support.  May the good Lord fulfill all His promises and blessings for standing with us in Jerusalem and for blessing Israel!
