The Jerusalem Prayer List – March 2nd, 2017

By Joseph Shulam

We are reading from Exodus 25:1 – 27:19. The name of this Parasha is Truma – Truma means contribution or donation.  The importance of this Parasha of the Torah is not the great details of the building of the Tabernacle and all the furniture and tools that would be used in the Tabernacle.  My own amazement is from the zeal that the people of Israel had in building this Tabernacle.  The children of Israel in the wilderness get a bad press.  They are normally accused of horrible murmuring and complaining and even plain ungratefulness toward God and toward Moses.  There is no doubt that there was murmuring and complaining, but there is also no doubt that when the children of Israel did something either good or bad they did it with gusto.  They gave generously to Aaron the High Spriest to build the Golden Calf, and now they give again with the same zeal for the building of the Tabernacle.  The giving was not prescribed and there was no percentage numbered of how much each should give to the building of the tabernacle – they gave as what they purposed in their hearts.  Just the very same words that Paul used in 2Cor. 9:7, “So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.”  The phrase that Paul is using in this text in 2 Corinthians 9:7 – is the exact phrase that is used in Exodus 25:2 – Paul is not connecting the giving to the Church with the tithing that was for the Levites and the Priests who are serving in the Tabernacle.  To do this would be a justification of REPLACEMENT THEOLOGY – WHICH IS THE BIGGEST LIE AND DIRECTLY AGAINST THE SCRIPTURES BOTH IN THE “OLD TESTAMENT” AND THE “NEW TESTAMENT.”  The Apostle Paul is urging the Disciples of Yeshua in Corinth to give on a totally different basis.  The Disciples are encouraged to give with three pre-conditions: 1) As they have purposed in their hearts i.e. as they have decided before hand with sincerity of heart. 2) generously because it is like a seed that is sown in the ground and the harvest is dependent on the amount of seed sown. 3) with joy and gladness.

Another issue that is carnal to our faith and to our understanding of God’s relationship to Israel and to the Church – and that is the need for the collection.  We must remember the words of Paul to the Judges and Philosophers in the Artophagous in Athens, Greece: “God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things.” (Acts 17:24–25 NKJV) King Solomon understood that even the Temple that he built in Jerusalem is not really the place of God’s dwelling: ““But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain You. How much less this temple which I have built!” (1 Kings 8:27)

The Hebrew text of Exodus 25:8“And let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell in them.”  The translation in English read “among them.”  However, when seeing the words of King Solomon and the following texts we understand that the real purpose of the LORD was to dwell in the people.  1Kings 6:13, “And I will dwell INSIDE (among) the children of Israel, and will not forsake My people Israel.”   See also: Zech. 2:10, “Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your (inside you) midst,” says the LORD.” Of course, the text that Peter brings on the day of Pentecost from Joel is the prophetic promise that God will fill all with His Spirit and make everyone equal to the prophets who were filled with the Spirit of God and spoke and acted as extension of God’s Spirit on the Earth. The ultimate fulfillment of this is in the promises of God to Jeremiah in the context of the New Covenant: “But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.” (Jeremiah 31:33 NKJV)

Marcia and I, we are in Buenos Aires, Argentina. We have been here almost a week and every day has been full morning till late night with appointments.  We have met just about every leader of Jewish ministries and some who have great interest in Israel.  We are accompanied by dear brothers from China who attended the 11th Congress the “Teaching from Zion” ministry in Belo-Horizonte.  This is the first time that we had a delegation from China.  Twelve Brothers and Sisters came from China to participate in the Congress and they were extremely impressed and enjoyed the Congress and now they are with us in Buenos Aires.  It is a great blessing to see the East and the West unite for the Restoration of the Church and Israel.

Please keep Chinese Christians in your prayers.  They are so full of zeal and desire to serve God and they pray for Israel with such dedication and joy that is provoking us to jealousy and provoking our Jewish brothers and sisters in Brazil and now in Argentina to jealousy with their humility and dedication to pray for Israel’s salvation and the Restoration.

Please keep Marcia in your prayers.  She has been wonderful partner in all things, and traveling is not easy for Marcia, but she is holding up although suffering from the heat and air-conditioning.  She needs all our prayers for healing of all the problems from Rheumatoid Arthritis and Diabetic and some slight cognitive issues.

Please keep Barry our son in your prayers – he is doing so much better and our prayers have turned from anxiety for his healing to thanksgiving for God’s goodness and mercy and healing.

Please keep Danah and Noaam in your prayers.  They both need healing and wisdom and so many other needs in material issues and more.

Don’t forget to pray for the future of the United States.

Pray for the opening of Israel’s doors to Aliyah from the decedents of victims of the Spanish and Portuguese Inquisition.  Israel must open the doors to those Jews who were forced to convert to Catholicism between 1472-1824.  They were forced to convert they were forced to hide their Jewish identity and stop practicing any Jewish law or custom, but they still preserved the historical memory that they are Jews and kept as much as they could of their Jewish tradition sometimes at the pain of torture and death.  All that we are interested in is for the State of Israel to think only of what is good for the country and for the future of the nation of Israel – and of course not to forget that these are Jews who were forced to convert to Catholicism and kept their Jewish identity even in secret.

Pray for the government of Israel and divine wisdom for our Prime Minister Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu.  It will take divine wisdom and a very broad prophetic understanding for Mr. Netanyahu and his government to tip-toe through the Roses and not be cut to pieces by the thrones on the Rose bushes.

Please keep praying for Kol HaYeshua Radio – We want to move on to F.M. Radio and we need God’s help and your help.  We want to increase our work with the social media and in this too we need your prayers and your support.  The world of the young is moving from the traditional media of Radio and even from Television to the new internet based media.  Please pray for Netivyah, Kol HaYeshua, and Teaching from Zion Magazine.  If you don’t receive the Teaching from Zion Magazine you can download it from the Netivyah Web page for free: www.netivyah.org  – it is free also for orthodox Jews if they wish to read the magazines and there are many back copies that you can download for free.

The Lord willing, Marcia and I will be traveling back home next week and as soon as we land we have work above our heads.  The day after landing we have a wedding in our congregation, and immediately our executive office manager is leaving for ten days, and there is a long list of things that we must do in preparation for the holidays of Purim and Passover. . .  We do you ask you to pray for us all and for all the Netivyah staff.

Please don’t forget to pray for our sick list and the special needs of so many of our brothers and sisters around the World. This is a real prayer ministry that people from around the world take seriously and pray for each name with the fire of the Holy Spirit.

Our dear sister Lea Kurky is out of the hospital and back home.  She still needs our prayers.  She had surgery for an intestinal blockage.  The blockage was removed but there is still a healing process that has to continue.  Please keep our dear sister Leah Kurky in your prayers.

Daniel P., is still in the hospital after the horrible motorcycle accident three weeks ago.  He has had the surgeries for reconstruction and soon he will be transferred to the best rehab hospital in Israel near Tel-Aviv.   Please keep Daniel P., in your prayers.  He is fine young man with great talents and a greater potential.  The Lord is good and we thank God for the progress that Daniel has experienced.  Daniel’s recovery and survival is nothing less than miraculous and we have nothing less than gratitude and thanksgiving to God for HIS mercy.  Please keep praying for Daniel P.

Yuda is back home in Jerusalem.  He did a wonderful job teaching in Brazil and all the brothers in Brazil and our Chinese delegation was so happy to hear and see Yuda doing this ministry.  Please keep Yuda and all his family in your prayers.

Please keep Israel in your prayers.  The storm is brewing all around us and unless the LORD God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, raise up to save us and deliver us from of our enemies there is no one else who can do it.

There is a young man by the name of Israel who is the son of one of our leaders in Brazil.  Please lift Israel in your prayers.  He is a wonderful young man who needs much help to get his life together.  He can do it with a little bit of help from God.  Now he is ready to seek God and I am sure that God will be found by Israel.

Danah needs your prayers.  Please pray for God to give Danah a breakthrough in her life.  Pray to God to give her strength and give her health and give Noaam a deep appreciation for her mother and peace in her heart.

Please keep praying for the sick brothers and sisters from all around the World. I would like to ask you to pray for some friends who have a need for God’s blessing on their work:  Chung and Sister Lee.  I have special concern for our dear brother Goh and his family, and for Sister Christy, Sister Laurel, and for Brother Michael Kenzevic, and Daniel L., and his company.   Pray for our dear brother David H., and his family in Finland. These are brothers who have needs in their work and God is gracious to bless and help those who have concern to bless others.

Please don’t forget to especial pray for healing and strength for our dear brothers in Murfreesboro.  Pray for our dear brother and sister Bobby, and Emmet, and Joe M., and Gloria D., these are all very precious brothers and friends are battling serious health issues and we must keep them in our prayers.

Please don’t forget to pray for our dear sister Ruby, and for my finest teachers, Dr. John McRay, and George Howard.

Keep Gary in your prayers and Nancy’s and Don’s son Aharon who is doing better now, but still is struggling with a tumor in his brain keep him in your prayers please! Yuri Marianenko a member of our congregation in Jerusalem is fighting a prostate cancer.  Our wonderful older brothers and sisters need our prayers:  Ahuvah Ben Meir, David Stern, Sarit, Miriam, Ilana, and Leah.  This week I am adding to this prayer list our dear sister Lydia – lift her up in your prayers.

We especially lift up before your throne of mercy Marcelo’s father and mother in Belo-Horizonte. We pray for the following dear brothers and sisters: Pastor Curita in Tokyo, Toru San, and the husband of Yumi, Sadako San, Shoko San, Takeo Sensei and Tomoko San all in Japan.

God bless you all who pray for Israel and for the Peace of Jerusalem.  May the Lord God of Israel and Father of our Messiah Yeshua give you all the blessings that He promised to Abraham for all those who bless the Seed of Abraham – Israel.

May the good Lord keep all HIS blessings flowing to you and from you for the body of the Messiah worldwide.
